Digital Citizenship Lesson...Part 2
Digital Citizenship Lesson con’d:
Students were then broken up into pairs/groups of three to research the 9 rights, roles, and responsibilities of a digital citizen found on: Rights, Roles, and Responsibilities in a Digital Society. Each group was asked to contribute to the classroom Google Doc on the information that they found. Here are some examples from each class:
Digital Citizenship-1st Hour
Digital Citizenship-2nd Hour
Digital Citizenship-3rd Hour
(Students were given a shortened URL on the board to link to the Google Doc, as well as a QR Code, in case they wanted to scan it and respond with their phones.) I could not believe how many students contributed to the Google Doc via their phones. I figured that would have been the last choice by students, that they would prefer the desktops or netbooks that were available.
We also shared the following video: Digital Life Student Intro Video
After each group shared what they had written and I asked them how they would model good digital citizen behaviors in each of the content areas that they covered, we moved on to a short clip on Twitter that was discussed by Green Bay Packer Aaron Rodgers: (it is found around 26 min). Thanks to @chadkafka for this one!
